Colorado’s Opportunity Coalition Adds Three
Advisory Board Members in August
DENVER, CO – The Opportunity Coalition is proud to announce the addition of three experienced and spirited new Advisory Board members, Mr. Scott Bemis, Mr. Josh Hanfling, and Ms. Purnima Voria.
Scott Bemis, former Publisher of the Denver Business Journal, now serves as Director of Business and Community Partnerships at EKS&H, public affairs executive Josh Hanfling is Co-Founder & Principal at Sewald Hanfling, and Purnima Voria is the Founder and CEO of the National US India Chamber of Commerce (NUICC)
“All three of these stellar individuals have a reputation as upstanding business leaders who are also actively invested in our local communities – all of us at Opportunity Coalition are thrilled to have them on board,” said Brian Watson, Founder & CEO of the organization.
“Scott, Josh, and Purnima will no doubt offer valuable insight and strategic connections throughout Colorado as the Opportunity Coalition continues to expand its audience and influence across the state.”
Scott Bemis has more than 30 years of experience building relationships and developing partnerships while leading publications for the American City Business Journals. He was the past board Chair of Visit Denver and is active in the Downtown Denver Partnership, Junior Achievement, and the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
“I’ve already been impressed by the quality events and robust lineup of featured guests that the Opportunity Coalition consistently brings to the table,” Bemis said.
“It’s encouraging to see the meaningful and pertinent topics we are tackling head on. I’m grateful for the chance to be involved on a deeper level.”
Josh Hanfling is a business veteran who has also always been involved in the political and nonprofit spaces. Hanfling was named one of Denver’s 25th most powerful people by 5280 Magazine and elected to the 40 under 40 by the Denver Business Journal. He serves on the boards of the Denver Justice Council, Friends of the Denver Fire Department, and The Denver Health Foundation, among others.
Hanfling observed that, “The Opportunity Coalition is clearly a place for local innovators and thought leaders who are genuinely interested in the health and well-being of Colorado businesses, individuals, and communities.”

Purnima Voria is an international business owner, freelancer, educator, motivational speaker, and a U.S.-India expert. Nationally, she has been appointed to serve as an Advisor to the Obama Administration on the National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprises for a two year term to shape future policies and programs that will set the foundation for the growth of $100 million companies across all industries that are owned and operated by U.S. minorities.
